Paradox ‎– Too Dissimilar, Idiosyncrasies. Love the track "Too Dissimilar". I don't know what it is about Drumfunk but I consider it to be one of the best of sub-genres. A percussionist wet dream. I wish there was more artists in this genre doing the unthinkable in the complexity of drum sampling and splicing. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Love the track "Too Dissimilar". A real banger. I don't know what it is about Drumfunk but I consider it to be one of the best of sub-genres. A percussionist wet dream. I wish there was more artists in this genre doing the unthinkable in the complexity of drum sampling and splicing.

Although I don't usually write reviews and recommendations, this piece of vinyl is worth to have in collection because it shows how intelligent drum and bass can be (or at least it was). The track "Idiosyncrasies" on this release has one of the most unique drum loops I've ever heard in d'n'b and I've heard a lot of them. It's almost on the edge of IDM. The bass line is very deep (your sub-woofer will like it) but the rhythm is what plays major role on this release. Highly recommended to those who like intelligent stuff.

You seem a little overly concerned with how "intelligent" music is. that you're comparing it to "idm" rather than it's much more obvious relative 'jungle' is a little strange to me.Check out some obscure 93/94 jungle drum patterns.
