Gordon Howe OC (March 31, 1928 – June 10, 2016) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. From 1946 to 1980, he played twenty-six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) and six seasons in the World Hockey Association (WHA); his first 25 seasons were spent with the Detroit Red Wings. Nicknamed Mr. Hockey, Howe is often considered the most complete player to ever play the game and one of the greatest of all time.

B1.

The Hartford Whalers played in the NHL from 1979-1997, winning the Adams Division in 1986-1987. The Whalers relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina following the 1997 season, becoming the Carolina Hurricanes. During their time in Hartford, the Whalers boasted such talents as Gordie Howe, Kevin Dineen and Hall of Famer Ron Francis.

Brass Bonanza, also known as the Hartford Whalers Victory March was adopted by the Hartford Whalers as their theme song during their tenure in the World Hockey Association, and remained so through their years in the National Hockey League. According to Jeff Jacobs of the Hartford Courant, Gordie Howe once began humming Brass Bonanza in my ear.

Gordon "Gordie" Howe, is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who played for the Detroit Red Wings and Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Houston Aeros and New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association (WHA). I used to have this 45 and hated the song but liked the tribute. Went to some Whalers games in the 80-84 period and that song after a whaler goal was a nightmare.
