Didn't realise it was mastered from a plate. Sounds great considering. I know there's all kinds of software to get rid of crackle etc but you can't even hear any rough bits where it would have been cue'd up. Mine has that aforementioned click halfway through, strange they missed that when it's so clean otherwise
  • Skiletus
this was from a DAT not a plate as far as I am aware. Your click in it may be a pressing fault but not in the digital audioHope that helps
  • Timberahue
Is this really a 'proper copy' or an unauthorised / snidey one?Not that fussed, just curious...it's over twenty-six years old now so I wouldn't blame anyone for doing a bit of 'DIY'.

I'm not really religious besides my love for the Amen break but I must say... God Bless Simon Smith for releasing this record. I am so happy to finally own this on vinyl. For the longest time I had the Nee version to play with on CDR but having the real thing by the real author is just so wonderful. Thank you so much Simon! I look forward to the release of the "Devil's (The Power of the Darkside)" Dubplate record next.
  • Gri
anyone know what year this remix was done? is this a release of an old mix?
  • Anen
I knew it from LTJ Bukem @ Swing Red October (Oct 1992) which was a tape I bought as a kid so it’s nice it’s finally made it to vinyl!
  • elektron
thanks. not heard it before but like it. 10 word rule makes me chattier than i would otherwise be!
  • Yojin
1992 was the 1st time I heard it / discogs said I have to use over ten words (hence this bit)
  • Ance
glad it got a release shame about the pop/clip on the drumroll before the amens kick in after the 1st man drop / anyone eases copy do this...? i know 3 copies now that do it / maybe dust in the press or the dub it was restored from was not cleaned enough before the masters was sent off to cut....?
  • Trash
One of my copies has a piece of cardboard stuck in the groove in the place you mentioned.
  • Manarius
just to add mine plays great - no pops/clicks... anywhere!
  • DireRaven
Yeah I read the same thing on the site, but if you rip it and look the waveform in any program, you can see its 100% not from a dubplate (In my opinion), its far to uniform for vinyl, even after being remastered, maybe he's remade it using the samples or something. Anyway just letting people know mine was fine.
  • Heri
It stated on the site it was a restored dub plate as no dats was about - to use - like said I know 3 peoples who has the same pop in the same place so defo something has happened
  • Rgia
I ripped my copy this morning, just checked it now... nothing. It’s clear all the way through, from the looks of the waveform, it’s def not a vinyl restoration either, maybe a few dodgy copies came off the press?
  • Gogal
Amazing. Never thought this would see the light of day. Thanks to all involved in making this possible.
  • *Nameless*
Top Buzz definitely had a copy as well featured on the Rage mix 1992 "jungle juice" which is, imho, one of the best sets of 1992.Psyched this is getting reissued!
  • Ironfire
Do you have a link to that mix you quoted. It would be neat to hear that.
  • interactive man
The Back to Hell version of this masterpiece - is a fucking proto darkcore neck snapper the cavernous bass tears a hole, pressed so clean and loud as well.
  • Tejar
This needs to be pressed to a 12" record. This not getting a proper release makes me extremely ANGRY and I'm even more angry at those who are sitting on this dubplate and not sharing it.Also its well known that Grooverider had a copy.
  • Mojar
just up for a pre-order on MPS website ! a bargain at a tenner which the artist gets a slice off check ithttps://www.mpsvinyl.co.uk/products/s-o-h
  • Ghile
I think Jumping Jack Frost got a copy of the simon bassline smith mix as well, or he borrowed one for a mixtape he made at least
  • THOMAS
If it wasnt for the magic of DJ Nex this release would just disappear into oblivion like so much of the beligium edged hardcore tunes doing the rounds back in the day. Nex takes the original and fatboy slims it up making it harder, punchier and down right sexier leaving us with a classic for many years to come. This is what i call a remix and in my opinion the only standout ttack on this 12.

The hellbound mix is an absolute belter that scares the willies out of me. Takes me back to the dark days of clubbing in little old Adelaide when smoke machines and strobelights ruled.
